Türkiye has said that Israel's latest attacks on Gaza showed once again that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government has no intention of making peace with the Palestinians.
"Netanyahu's sole objective is to displace Palestinians from their homeland and prevent the establishment of peace and stability in the region," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It said Netanyahu continues to take steps that undermine the fragile regional balance and sabotage mediation efforts led by countries, particularly the US.
"It has become imperative for the international community to adopt a more determined, consistent and robust stance against Netanyahu's expansionist and militarist approach," the statement added, calling on international actors to uphold humanitarian values.
Civilian casualties
Israeli strikes across Gaza over the past two days have killed civilians and destroyed essential medical supplies, the Board of Peace's lead envoy, Nickolay Mladenov, said Sunday.
"Two days of strikes across Gaza have killed civilians and destroyed medical supplies that people depend on," Mladenov wrote on X.
Mladenov said the escalation came after "intense efforts" by the Board of Peace and mediators from Türkiye, Egypt, Qatar and the US to secure Palestinian agreement to a roadmap for full implementation of US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan.
Israeli attacks killed at least 19 Palestinians, including three children and an unborn baby, and wounded several others on Sunday, in the latest violations of the ceasefire in effect since 10 October 2025.
The strikes came a day after eight Palestinians were killed and others injured on Saturday.
