Israeli forces assaulted an 80-year-old Palestinian-American in the occupied West Bank town of Turmus Ayya, according to witnesses and local medics.
Khamis Rabee Jabara suffered a head wound on Thursday evening after Israeli soldiers beat him and fired stun grenades towards him, according to Anadolu's correspondent.
Footage from the scene showed Jabara lying on the ground bleeding from the head while surrounded by Israeli soldiers. A bystander was seen holding his US passport and telling the soldiers that he was an American citizen as the incident was being recorded.
Palestinian Red Crescent teams transported Jabara to hospital for treatment.
Previous killings
The incident follows the deaths of two other Palestinian-Americans in the occupied West Bank over the past year.
In August 2025, Khamis Abdul Latif Ayyad died after inhaling smoke from fires set by illegal Israeli settlers who torched Palestinian homes and vehicles in the town of Silwad, according to Palestinian and US officials.
In July 2025, Saif al-Din Musallet was killed after being severely beaten by Israeli settlers in the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
Since the start of Israel's war on Gaza in October 2023, Israeli forces and illegal settlers have intensified attacks across the occupied West Bank, killing more than 1,182 Palestinians, injuring around 13,000 and arresting nearly 25,000, according to Palestinian figures.
Palestinian officials say the escalating violence is part of efforts to pave the way for Israel's formal annexation of the occupied West Bank, undermining the prospects for a Palestinian state under relevant UN resolutions.
