An Israeli drone strike has killed three Palestinians and wounded several others in southern Gaza after targeting a tent near Nasser Hospital, medical sources confirmed, marking another breach of the fragile ceasefire.

A medical source at Nasser Hospital said the casualties were brought to the facility following the strike in the al-Buraq area of central Khan Younis.

Witnesses told Anadolu Agency that an Israeli drone fired at least one missile directly into the tent, which was being used by displaced civilians as a communal mobile phone charging hub.

Earlier on Sunday, medical officials at al-Shifa Hospital confirmed that six-year-old Jihad Iyad al-Ghandour died of severe wounds sustained on Saturday when Israeli soldiers opened fire inside Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

Separately, Israeli forces expanded territorial control in eastern Gaza City early on Sunday, injuring two Palestinians—including a pregnant woman—and forcing dozens of families to flee.

Local sources reported that Israeli armoured vehicles, accompanied by armed Palestinian militias operating under army support, advanced tens of metres into the Shujaiya neighbourhood under artillery cover and quadcopter fire.

Troops fired heavily across the sector stretching from the eastern vegetable market to the Shujaiya intersection on Salah al-Din Street.

For roughly a week, eastern neighbourhoods including Tuffah and Shujaiya have faced night-time demolitions, artillery bombardment, and armoured patrols along the "yellow line", which demarcates Israeli-held sectors from civilian areas.

According to Gaza's Health Ministry, Israeli violations of the truce agreement enacted on October 10, 2025, have killed 1,488 Palestinians and injured 5,281 as of Sunday.

Since the wider war began in October 2023, more than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed, over 175,000 wounded, and roughly 90 percent of the enclave's infrastructure destroyed.
