A hospital in Sudan’s southeastern Blue Nile state was destroyed and two medical workers were seriously injured in a drone attack blamed on the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a Sudanese medical group said on Monday.
The Sudan Doctors Network said the attack targeted Um Darfa Hospital in Wad al-Mahi locality on Sunday.
The hospital was damaged and knocked out of service, while two health workers were seriously injured as they carried out their duties, the group said in a statement.
Initial information indicated that the attack caused widespread damage to the medical facility, threatening to deprive residents and displaced people in the area of essential health services amid an increasingly difficult humanitarian and health situation.

The group held the RSF responsible for the attack and called for an end to repeated assaults on medical facilities.
It also urged the UN, the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross and humanitarian and rights organisations to act to protect health facilities and medical personnel.
The network warned that continued attacks on hospitals and health centres are further weakening Sudan’s health system and putting thousands of patients and wounded people at risk.
There has been no comment from the RSF on the report.
On October 9, the Sudan Doctors Network, a local medical group, said an RSF drone strike on a displacement camp in the Abu Shandi area of Wad al-Mahi killed 31 civilians, including four children, and injured 19 others.
On October 3, Sudanese authorities accused the RSF of launching drone strikes targeting the governor’s residence and civilian sites in Damazin, the state capital.
Sudan has been engulfed in war between the army and the RSF since April 2023, leaving tens of thousands dead and around 13 million displaced, according to UN and international estimates.
