Israeli forces killed a 28-year-old Palestinian during a military raid in the occupied West Bank town of Aqraba, south of Nablus, on Tuesday, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
The ministry identified the man as Abdulkarim Suleiman, who it said was shot and killed by Israeli forces during the attack.
Aqraba Mayor Salah Abu Shahada told Anadolu that Israeli troops raided the Al-Dayriya area at dawn and surrounded a home where an entire family was inside, including a father, his children and his mother.
Home besieged during hours-long raid
According to the mayor, Israeli forces removed the family members from the house, but the father refused to leave.
Israeli occupation forces then brought in additional troops and imposed a tight cordon around the building.
Israeli forces fired a shell at the house, causing part of the structure to collapse, Abu Shahada said.
Residents reported hearing gunfire and explosions throughout the hours-long operation.
The forces later withdrew from the area surrounding the house and informed Palestinian authorities that Suleiman had been killed. His body was being withheld by the Israeli forces, according to the mayor.
Violence by Israelis continues in the occupied West Bank
The raid came amid continued Israeli military aggression across the occupied West Bank, including raids, arrests and demolitions, alongside increasing attacks by illegal Israeli settlers.
Palestinian officials say the escalation has intensified since Israel launched its genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, with the occupied West Bank facing repeated military incursions and growing violence.
The latest killing adds to mounting concerns over the deteriorating security situation in the occupied territory and the impact of prolonged military offensives on Palestinian communities.
