Five more Palestinians have killed and several others wounded in Israeli attacks across Gaza, according to Palestinian medical sources, as Israeli forces continued military aggression despite a ceasefire that has been in place since October 2025.
Three Palestinians were killed and several others wounded when an Israeli drone struck a civilian vehicle in the Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood of southern Gaza City, a medical source said on Monday. The bodies were taken to al-Shifa Hospital.
Earlier, two Palestinians were killed and others injured in a drone strike targeting the entrance of a residential building near Gaza Municipality Park in central Gaza City, according to medical sources.
Attacks reported across Gaza
The violence was not limited to Gaza City.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its crews transported five fishermen wounded by fire from Israeli war boats off the Gaza City coast to al-Shifa Hospital and al-Saraya Field Hospital.
Witnesses said Israeli naval forces fired on and shelled fishing boats while they were operating offshore.
In northern Gaza, a 16-year-old boy was wounded when an Israeli drone dropped a bomb in Beit Lahia, according to a medical source at al-Shifa Hospital.
In Khan Younis, three Palestinians were injured by gunfire and a drone-dropped bomb in the Hamad and Western Satr areas.
Local sources and witnesses said Israeli military vehicles and drones also opened heavy fire toward homes in Hamad Residential City, injuring two people.
The Palestinian Civil Defence said its crews extinguished a fire that broke out in two tents housing displaced people in Hamad after Israeli forces opened fire on the area. In Western Satr, a Palestinian was wounded by shrapnel from a drone-dropped bomb.
A Palestinian woman was also critically injured after Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire east of Deir al-Balah, amid artillery shelling, according to medical and local sources.
Local sources reported demolitions of buildings and facilities in areas under Israeli control east of the city.
Rising toll despite ceasefire
The latest attacks came despite US President Donald Trump calling for an end to strikes on Gaza.
In an August 17 interview with Fox News, Trump said Israel should not be carrying out strikes on the enclave.
Since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025, Israeli violations have killed 1,318 Palestinians and wounded 4,375 others, according to Gaza's health ministry. Rescue teams have also recovered hundreds of bodies from beneath the rubble.
The ministry said Sunday that the overall Palestinian death toll from Israeli attacks in Gaza since October 2023 had reached about 73,454, with 174,486 people wounded.
