At least 11 people, including two infants, were killed and five others injured in Israeli air strikes on southern Lebanon overnight, according to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) on Monday.
The deadliest strike hit a three-story residential building in Kfar Roummane, near Nabatieh, shortly after midnight, completely destroying the structure, NNA reported.
Emergency crews recovered nine bodies from the rubble, including those of the two infants, while five people were injured.
Paramedics among those killed
In a separate attack in Kafr Rouman, an Israeli drone struck a civilian vehicle, killing two paramedics from the Islamic Risala Scout Association who were inside, according to NNA.
Israeli fighter aircrafts also carried out strikes on Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Arabsalim, where a house was destroyed.
NNA reported that the Israeli forces had issued an evacuation warning for a building in Deir al-Zahrani before Israeli fighter aircrafts destroyed it about 22 minutes later.
The reports come amid continued Israeli military offensive in southern Lebanon, where residential areas and civilian infrastructure have repeatedly been affected by strikes.
The latest casualties add to concerns over the impact of renewed violence on civilians in communities across southern Lebanon.
