Iran's Revolutionary Guards have warned that Britain would become a "definite and legitimate target" if it supported the United States in any conflict with Tehran.
According to Iran's state broadcaster IRIB, an IRGC spokesperson said any country supporting the US in a war against Iran, including Britain and Gulf states, would be considered a legitimate target.
The spokesperson added that US bombers had recently used British airfields.
The IRGC also said the memorandum of understanding stipulates that navigation through the Strait of Hormuz should take place under arrangements announced by Iran.
It accused the United States of violating the memorandum of understanding by announcing an alternative route for ships transiting the strategic waterway.
"Any country, whether Britain or any other state, will become a legitimate target if it supports America in the war," the spokesperson said.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran following renewed military escalation.
