Qatar and France have called for a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza under agreed ceasefire arrangements and an immediate halt to illegal settlement expansion across the occupied West Bank, while urging a diplomatic resolution to ongoing regional tensions involving Iran.
The joint positions were outlined in a formal communique released by Qatar's Foreign Ministry following high-level discussions between Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and French President Emmanuel Macron in Doha during Macron's tour of the Gulf.
Both nations reaffirmed their staunch opposition to any annexation of the occupied West Bank, demanding an end to illegal Israeli settlement policies and violence committed by settlers.
They underscored the urgent necessity of fully implementing the Gaza ceasefire framework, including the orderly withdrawal of Israeli armed forces under agreed arrangements, alongside unhindered, safe delivery of humanitarian assistance throughout the enclave.
Doha and Paris also reiterated their joint commitment to Palestinian national elections and a viable two-state solution.

Strait of Hormuz, Lebanon, and regional stability
Addressing Iran, Qatar and France condemned Iranian military attacks on regional states, advocating for a diplomatic framework to guarantee the exclusively peaceful character of Tehran's nuclear programme.
They urged the immediate restoration of unrestricted, fee-free maritime transit through the strategic Strait of Hormuz, with France commending Qatari diplomatic mediation aimed at de-escalating regional flashpoints.
On Lebanon, the two states endorsed the full implementation of the tripartite framework agreement designed to re-establish Lebanese sovereignty, disarm Hezbollah, and secure a complete Israeli withdrawal.
They cautioned against an impending security vacuum once the UN peacekeeping mission concludes its mandate, urging sustained international support for the Lebanese Armed Forces and state institutions.
Regarding Syria, both governments signalled their readiness to back economic recovery and stabilisation initiatives alongside Syrian authorities.
Beyond regional security files, Qatar and France agreed to deepen bilateral defence, security, and economic cooperation.
