Several injuries were reported after a roadside bomb targeted a bus belonging to Syria’s Internal Security Forces in the Damascus countryside, Syria's Al-Ikhbariya television has reported.

The explosive device struck a bus transporting Internal Security Forces personnel on the Maarounah–Al-Tall road on Saturday, the channel quoted a security source as saying.

The source said the attack resulted in “several injuries among the personnel,” without providing further details about their conditions.

The relevant authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the attack, while investigations are continuing to identify the perpetrators of the terrorist act, the source added.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
