Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have signed a landmark joint defence agreement in Mecca, committing to regard an armed attack against any one of the three countries as an attack against all three.

Signed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on August 7, the agreement aims to strengthen collective deterrence and expand defence cooperation among the three countries.

The pact, described as reflecting their "deep historical ties, longstanding brotherhood, Islamic solidarity and shared strategic interests," has also been brought into the public spotlight in Türkiye through a special visual communications campaign.

Digital screens, architectural lighting and large-scale visual displays have transformed some of Ankara and Istanbul's best-known landmarks into platforms highlighting the Mecca agreement's messages of solidarity, cooperation and a shared future.

Here are some of the landmarks illuminated as part of the campaign:

Presidential Communications Directorate Building — Ankara

The Presidential Communications Directorate building in Ankara was among the capital's prominent landmarks selected for the campaign. 

Digital displays highlighted the Mecca agreement and its message of strategic cooperation and solidarity among Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Turk Telekom Building — Ankara

The campaign was also displayed on the Turk Telekom building in Ankara. 

Similar visuals were presented across more than 600 Turk Telekom branches throughout Türkiye, extending the campaign beyond the capital and bringing the agreement's message to audiences nationwide.

Atakule — Ankara

One of Ankara's most recognisable landmarks, Atakule was illuminated as part of the campaign. 

The visuals emphasised the agreement's themes of cooperation, unity and a shared future.

Ataturk Cultural Center — Istanbul

In Istanbul, the Ataturk Cultural Center became another prominent backdrop for the campaign. 

The visual displays presented the Mecca agreement as a symbol of partnership and solidarity between the three countries.

15 July Martyrs Bridge — Istanbul

The campaign reached one of Istanbul's most iconic structures, the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, which connects the city's European and Asian sides. 

The display carried the agreement's message across one of Türkiye's most recognisable urban landmarks.

Galata Tower — Istanbul

The historic Galata Tower was also illuminated as part of the campaign. 

The display brought the message of the Mecca agreement to one of Istanbul's most prominent landmarks, linking the contemporary defence partnership with the city's centuries-old role as a crossroads between regions.
