A Palestinian was killed by Israeli army fire in northern Gaza on Monday, in the latest violation of a ceasefire in place since last October, a medical source said.

The source at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City said the body of Mousa al-Abyad, 44, was transferred to the facility after he was shot by Israeli forces in the Atatra area west of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza.

Local sources said the Atatra area lies outside the zones of Israeli military deployment and control under the terms of the ceasefire agreement.

They added that Israeli artillery shelled eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City at dawn, while Israeli naval forces targeted the coasts of Rafah and Khan Younis in the south with gunfire and shells. No casualties were reported.

At least 830 Palestinians have been killed and 2,345 others injured in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire on October 10 2025, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

The ceasefire agreement was reached after two years of Israeli genocidal war that began October 8 2023, with US support, leaving more than 72,000 Palestinians dead and over 172,000 injured, along with widespread destruction affecting about 90 percent of civilian infrastructure.
