Two people were killed on Friday when a bomb exploded outside the courthouse in Hasakah, northeastern Syria, the country's state broadcaster reported.
Alikhbariah TV said internal security forces cordoned off the area and were investigating the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
The broadcaster provided no further details about the identities of the victims or the nature of the explosion.
No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion yet.
The explosion comes a day after Syrian President Ahmed al Sharaa appointed disbanded YPG-led SDF terror group ringleader Mazloum Abdi as an adviser, according to the SANA state news agency.
Al Sharaa issued a decree on Thursday appointing Abdi to the position of “adviser to the Presidency of the Republic,” SANA reported.
Abdi announced on Tuesday the dissolution of the YPG-led SDF terror organisation at a news conference.
The Syrian administration and the YPG-led SDF reached an agreement on January 29 providing for a ceasefire and the group’s gradual integration into state institutions.
