Two Palestinians, including a child, were injured by Israeli army gunfire early on Sunday during military raids in the northern occupied West Bank cities of Jenin and Qalqilya, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said.
The organisation said its medical teams treated a 50-year-old man who was shot with live ammunition in the hand and leg during an Israeli army raid in the Al-Jabriyat area of Jenin.
The wounded man was transferred to a hospital for treatment, it said.
In Qalqilya, a Palestinian child was shot with live ammunition in the thigh during an Israeli military raid on the city and was also taken to a hospital, according to the Red Crescent.
The occupied West Bank has witnessed daily Israeli military raids and escalating illegal settler attacks since the Gaza war began in October 2023.
The Israeli army and illegal settlers have carried out attacks involving killings and arrests of Palestinians, home demolitions, destruction of agricultural land and displacement, as well as continued settlement expansion.
Palestinians have warned that the measures are paving the way for Israel to formally annex the occupied West Bank, which they said would undermine the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state under relevant UN resolutions.
