A Palestinian was killed on Friday by an armed militia backed by Tel Aviv, while four others, including two girls, were injured by Israeli army fire in Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
The incidents came amid daily Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10 2025.
Members of an Israeli-backed militia infiltrated the home of a Palestinian in the town of Al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis, abducted him, tied him up, and executed him, local and medical sources told Anadolu.
A medical source said the body of Fadi al-Abadla, 31, arrived at Nasser Hospital with his hands tied.
Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, said in a statement that at 3.30 am local time Friday (0030GMT), a militia with the support of Israeli drones advanced towards the Al-Jumeiza Street area in Al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis, in an “attempt to abduct one of our fighters.”
It said its fighters detected the infiltrating force during the abduction and clashed with it at close range using grenades and medium weapons, causing casualties among its members.
Israeli reliance on militias
Israeli drones intervened to help the militia withdraw, the group said, adding that militia members killed Fadi Ali al-Abadla by shooting him and leaving him at the scene while evacuating their dead and wounded.
Since 2025, Israel has expanded its reliance on armed militias inside Gaza, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted in June that year that Israel had armed some groups based on recommendations from security agencies.
The militias are deployed in several parts of Gaza, including Beit Hanoun and Shujaiya in the north, Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, and Khan Younis and Rafah in the south, mostly inside areas occupied by the Israeli army or near its positions.
Israeli fire on Palestinians
In a related development, medical sources said four Palestinians were injured by heavy Israeli army fire towards homes and tents sheltering displaced people in eastern, northern, and southern Khan Younis.
Witnesses said three Palestinians, including an 11-year-old girl, were injured by Israeli gunfire in the Hamad area north of Khan Younis, while another girl was injured by Israeli army fire near Abu Hamid roundabout in the city centre.
In northern Gaza, local sources told an Anadolu correspondent that Israeli aircraft struck a house inside areas where the army is deployed on Mushtaha Street east of the Shujaiya neighbourhood.
East of Gaza City, an Israeli helicopter opened fire towards several areas.
Israel has killed at least 73,470 Palestinians and injured 174,540 in its genocidal war on Gaza since October 2023.
