Israeli forces deployed snipers on residential rooftops and opened fire indiscriminately in a village in southern Syria early on Thursday during a ground incursion, Syrian media reported.
Alikhbariah TV said Israeli troops entered Jamlah village in the western countryside of Daraa province, positioning snipers on residential rooftops while searching several houses.
The broadcaster said Israeli forces also fired indiscriminately in residential neighbourhoods during the operation.
There were no immediate reports of casualties.
The incursion came a day after Israeli tanks shelled the outskirts of Abidin village in western Daraa on Wednesday, according to Alikhbariah TV.
Israeli forces have carried out repeated incursions into southern Syria since the fall of Bashar al Assad’s regime in December 2024, when Israel declared the 1974 disengagement agreement void and seized the Syrian buffer zone.
