Botswana hopes for new leader to ride on Khama's success
Khama backed wildlife conservation efforts and the country is now home to more than a third of Africa's elephants. But his government has been criticised for evicting the indigenous Kalahari Bushmen from game reserves.
The president of Botswana - Ian Khama - is stepping down and has expressed confidence in his chosen successor Mokgweetsi Masisi.
Khama has been credited with steering Botswana through tough economic times.
But as TRT World's Abdi Osman reports, he's not without his critics.
