US govt to shutdown if funding legislation is not passed
The US is heading toward a federal shutdown this weekend unless Congress is able to extend government funding. If the government shuts down, nonessential functions will come to a halt, posing a potentially severe financial risk for American households - delaying paychecks and federal benefits. It's not the first time the US has been on the brink of closure over budget legislation but in all those instances, it's had a negative impact on the economy and the markets. Emre Boz has more.
