UN says sieges are prohibited under humanitarian law
The United Nations Human rights chief says Israel’s total siege of Gaza, depriving civilians of goods essential for survival, is banned under international law. Volker Turk, the UN high commissioner said people’s dignity and lives had to be respected as he called for Israel and Hamas to defuse the situation. Our correspondent Nizar Sadawi has this report from Gaza.
