The climate crisis has affected one of the most traditional industries of the Mediterranean. The region, synonymous with olive oil, has been suffering a drought, with production hit by extreme weather conditions this year. Spain which accounts for 50% of the world's olive oil supply, was affected by heatwaves and raging wildfires, causing a production drop of 48%.
