Laziness or Leisure? Inside Montenegro's Annual ‘Lazy’ Competition
The Balkans, known for its diverse cultures and religions, also has numerous stereotypes. Some are quite unflattering, including one that suggests Montenegrins are masters of being lazy. Hoping to poke fun at this or maybe to cash in, Montenegro started holding the Laziest Citizen competition each year. Mirjana Miladinovic explored Podgorica to find out if this stereotype is justified. Across The Balkans, hosted by Nafisa Latic, is TRT World’s programme that focuses specifically on the issues and fault lines shaping Southeast Europe today.
