Former Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström was once against Sweden joining NATO. But when Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, she says everything changed for her and her country. The diplomat, who was the first to promote a what was dubbed a feminist foreign policy. She says with the world less stable than it was a decade ago, that feminist foreign policy is needed now more than ever. In her conversation with Imran Garda, Wallström emphasizes that this approach isn't just about softness and compassion — it's about being strategic and effective. Wallstrom, who also held roles at the European Commission and United Nations, talks the rise of political polarization, the wars in Ukraine and Gaza — and reflects on her time as foreign minister.
