Labour's 'seismic reforms’ and ‘biggest building boom’ in decades
Britain's housing turmoil has reached a breaking point; in the last ten years there's been a sharp increase in the number of people arriving in the UK, and now the government estimates that 300,000 new homes per year need to be built to accommodate them all. Labour have promised to roll out 1.5 million homes over the next five years, but, just like previous governments, it faces an irrefutable logistical issue - on a small island with limited space, where are all these houses going to go? To discuss how the UK might achieve its mission to house everyone, Nick is joined by David Simmonds; Shadow housing minister and Conservative MP for Ruislip, Norwood and Pinner; Charlie Rowley, former special adviser to the housing secretary; and Anna Mikhailova, deputy editor of the Mail on Sunday.
