Labour Party wins big, ending 14 years of Conservative rule
A move to the left in the UK - the Labour Party ends 14 years of Conservative rule in an historic general election. With results still coming in, the Labour party is predicted to win a majority of 170, as the Conservative party saw their vote collapse across the country. It means Labour leader Keir Starmer will be the next prime minister - In a victory speech in London, Starmer said this will be time of national renewal in Britain, and promised to fix public services in the country. The conservative leader Rishi Sunak conceded defeat, and many senior conservative politicians have lost their seats. Meanwhile, and a new right-wing party, the reform party, has made inroads and also gained a significant share of the vote.
