Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that a trilateral meeting between Kiev, Washington, and Moscow will take place in November with the aim of restarting stalled peace negotiations.
"We are ready to talk. If it's a territorial issue, it must be addressed at a leadership level. Other issues fall within the remit of the technical groups. All this can therefore be discussed in November," Zelenskyy said in an interview with Ukrainian television on Sunday.
The announcement follows remarks on Friday by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, who stated that a trilateral meeting was scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates in November.
Intensified diplomacy
The announcements come amid intensified diplomatic engagement by United States President Donald Trump's administration.
His envoy, Steve Witkoff, met on Tuesday with Zelenskyy and European leaders in Oslo, before travelling to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday.
Following those high-level discussions, both Kiev and Moscow voiced their readiness to resume direct talks mediated by Washington.
