Iran has confirmed that its response to United States proposals aimed at ending the regional conflict will be delivered through diplomatic intermediaries, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei announced, while revealing key progress with Oman on establishing safe shipping corridors across the Strait of Hormuz.
Baghaei stated that Tehran has set out its "considerations and conditions" to halt hostilities across all fronts and restore maritime security to the Gulf.
"The necessary response to the proposals of the other side will also be provided through the mediators," Baghaei said, confirming that indirect communications between Tehran and Washington remain active through intermediaries.
The announcement follows remarks from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Athens, who claimed Iran missed multiple opportunities to resolve the dispute and asserted Tehran had lost control over the strategic waterway.
Rejecting Rubio's comments, Baghaei said: "Distorting historical facts cannot erase from public opinion the reality of the United States' repeated breaches of its commitments," pointing to Washington's 2018 withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear pact and continued military strikes during diplomatic processes.

Hormuz navigation
On commercial shipping, Baghaei said bilateral consultations between Tehran and Muscat produced an agreement on exact geographical coordinates for safe inbound and outbound vessel lanes through the Strait of Hormuz.
The agreed maritime arrangement will soon be submitted to international maritime authorities.
The diplomatic movement comes as the US-Israel war against Iran enters its eighth month.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian previously criticised Washington for launching attacks during earlier diplomatic overtures, though Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stressed that fair talks could still secure peace.
An earlier Iranian proposal submitted during the UN General Assembly offered to reopen the strait and commence nuclear discussions within seven days in exchange for a comprehensive ceasefire across all fronts, the lifting of the US naval blockade and oil sanctions, and the release of frozen assets.
