Israel has killed five Palestinians and wounded 18 others in an air strike targeting an apartment in a residential building in central Gaza City, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
It said that its crews recovered four bodies and 18 victims who were injured following the Israeli airstrike that targeted a home near the al-Israa Tower on Omar al-Mukhtar Street.
Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth alleged that the targets were Hamas’ northern Gaza brigade commander and the deputy commander of the Gaza City brigade, without disclosing their identities.
Israel has killed more than 72,000 people and wounded over 172,000 in two years of a brutal genocide since October 2023, which has also caused widespread destruction affecting 90 percent of civilian infrastructure, before a ceasefire was announced last October.
