Unexpected friends help Chile in reforesting areas devastated by fire
The worst wildfires in Chile's modern history ravaged wide swaths of the country's central-south regions. Homes have been reduced to cinders.

TRT World and Agencies
Wildfires across Chile destroyed more than 40,000 hectares (98,842 acres) of forestry land belonging to companies, most of it growing pine and eucalyptus for the wood, pulp and paper industry.
In the last few months, forest fires that swept across large areas of Chile have had a devastating effect. Homes have been reduced to cinders, and areas once thick with sturdy old trees are now little more than burned-out patches.
But the country's efforts to rebuild after the fires are getting a little help from some unexpected friends.
TRT World's Christine Pirovolakis reports.
