Global military expenditure surges to $2.4T

Military spending right across the world surged in 2023, marking the steepest year-on-year increase since 2009, driven by rising tensions, conflicts, and a deteriorating security landscape. Ukraine narrowed its spending gap with Russia while NATO members increased their share of military expenditure.
