Palestine’s Gaza remained the world’s deadliest place for aid workers in 2025, marking the third consecutive year at the top of the list.

According to UN figures, 186 humanitarian workers were killed in Gaza, with more than two-thirds of the deaths caused by Israeli air strikes. Sudan ranked second, with 71 aid workers killed amid ongoing conflict.

Globally, 907 aid workers were killed, injured or kidnapped in 2025, making it another record year for violence against humanitarian personnel. As of 2026, the toll continues to rise, with 82 aid workers killed, 97 injured and 39 kidnapped worldwide.
