Türkiye and Russia have signed a memorandum of understanding on mineral fertiliser shipments to strengthen Türkiye’s access to fertilisers and related raw materials, Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli said.
“We are increasing the diversity of our sources against potential risks to fertiliser supplies caused by wars and conflicts in our region,” Yumakli said on Tuesday.
He said the agreement would further secure Türkiye’s supply of fertilisers and fertiliser raw materials.
Yumakli said Türkiye was taking strategic steps to ensure farmers had uninterrupted and sustainable access to agricultural inputs in line with planned production targets.
The agreement would support agricultural production and help ensure an uninterrupted supply of products to the market, he added.
