Three Palestinians, including a child and a woman, were killed in Israeli fire across Gaza on Monday, while 11 others were wounded, according to medical sources, amid continued violence despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect in October 2025.
Fida Khader Toutah, 31, was shot in the head by Israeli military vehicles near the Abu Madin centre east of Deir al Balah in central Gaza, a medical source told Anadolu.
In southern Gaza, a Palestinian child was killed after being shot in the chest when Israeli military vehicles opened fire on tents sheltering displaced people in the Al Mawasi Rafah area, the source said.
In northern Gaza, Mohsen Ahmed Bahja, 24, from Jabalia al-Nazla, died from wounds sustained days earlier after he was shot by an Israeli quadcopter drone while inside his tent.
The latest incidents come amid repeated reports of violence in Gaza despite the ceasefire deal.
Displaced families among those hit
In central Gaza, a child was admitted to Shuhada al Aqsa Hospital with moderate injuries after Israeli forces opened fire on displacement tents between the Al Bureij and Al Maghazi refugee camps, according to a medical source.
Two other Palestinians were injured when an artillery shell struck a home belonging to the Abu al-Rous family in Al Bureij refugee camp, witnesses said. The shelling also sparked a fire at the house.
Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire on displacement tents along Salah al-Din Street north of Bureij, while artillery fire was reported around the area.
In Khan Younis, eight Palestinians sustained injuries in Israeli gunfire and artillery shelling, according to a medical source. Four people, including a woman, were shot when Israeli forces opened fire on the Hamad City residential area north of the city.
Two others were injured by shrapnel from an artillery shell in the al Amal neighbourhood, while two more, including a woman, were wounded in shelling and gunfire in the Al Sinaa and Qizan Abu Rashwan areas.
In northern Gaza, Israeli warships opened heavy machine-gun fire and fired shells along the Gaza City coast for about two hours, witnesses said.
Israeli quadcopter drones also dropped bombs near an Israeli military deployment area east of Gaza City's Shujaiya neighbourhood, while artillery fire was reported east of Jabalia.
Death toll continues to rise
Palestine’s health ministry in Gaza said Sunday that Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement had killed 1,393 Palestinians and injured 4,822 since the truce took effect.
The ministry’s overall figures put the Palestinian death toll since October 2023 at 73,910, with 174,935 injured.
The ministry said 831 bodies had also been recovered from under the rubble since the ceasefire deal, while some victims remain trapped under destroyed buildings or in areas that rescue teams have been unable to reach.
The ceasefire agreement, which began in October 2025, has significantly reduced the scale of the fighting but has not stopped Israel’s deadly attacks.
Recent incidents include Israeli strikes that killed Palestinians in northern and southern Gaza despite the ceasefire agreement.
