France secured a place in the World Cup knockout phase with a game to spare as Kylian Mbappe marked his 100th international appearance with two goals in a 3-0 victory over Iraq in Philadelphia.

Ousmane Dembele also found the net for the two-time world champions as Didier Deschamps' men made it back-to-back wins in Group I.

Earlier, the game was delayed after the first half due to severe weather conditions in Philadelphia.

Thousands of spectators, many wearing rain ponchos, were seen leaving the seating bowl and heading underneath the stadium concourses.

France was ahead 1-0 at the time.

A FIFA rule requires games to be paused and seating areas evacuated for 30 minutes if lightning is detected within 8 miles. Each strike resets the clock.
