Türkiye’s Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy hosted US Ambassador to Ankara Tom Barrack to discuss cooperation in culture and tourism, the ministry said on Monday.
The meeting covered efforts to increase tourism between Türkiye and the United States, protect cultural heritage and combat the illegal trafficking of cultural assets.
Ersoy underlined that the two sides reviewed cooperation within the framework of long-standing Türkiye-US relations.
“During our meeting, we comprehensively discussed our cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism within the framework of the long-standing relations between Türkiye and the United States,” Ersoy said.
He said enhancing tourism ties and protecting cultural heritage would remain key areas of future cooperation.
Türkiye ‘safeguarding position’ in competitive world
Ambassador Barrack praised Türkiye’s history, cultural diversity, hospitality and geographical advantages, saying they strengthened the country’s position in the global tourism sector.
He also commended Ersoy’s efforts to develop Türkiye’s tourism potential and stressed the importance of continued cooperation.
“Minister Ersoy’s bold leadership in safeguarding and advancing Türkiye’s position in this competitive international landscape is truly admirable,” Barrack said.
