Saudi-led coalition jets pounded Houthi targets across Yemen's provinces on Thursday, according to the group-run Saba media outlet.
Houthis confirmed the attack, saying that the Saudi “air force conducted around 40 strikes in recent hours in the governorates of Taiz, Hudaida, Al-Jawf and Marib."
Saba's report offered no immediate details on casualties or the scale of damage from the raids.
Saudi authorities also gave no immediate comment.
The barrage came as a fresh salvo, answering earlier attacks the Iran-backed Houthis launched against Saudi Arabia with ballistic missiles.
Pakistan's foreign ministry said nothing was currently under discussion regarding a military reaction to the strikes.
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye signed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement on August 7, under which an armed attack on one is regarded as an attack on all three.
"There is no such thing under discussion right now ... When time comes (we) will act under the agreement," Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan said at a weekly media briefing.
Meanwhile, the Iran-backed group reportedly took control of the Yemeni Red Sea city of Mocha, three Yemeni government sources told Reuters.
Located near the Bab al Mandeb Strait, Mocha is a key global shipping hub that Iran, through its support for the Houthis, can use as leverage against regional and global rivals.
Yemen has been engulfed in war since the Houthis seized the capital Sanaa and several provinces in 2014, forcing the temporary seat of the internationally recognised government to relocate to Aden.
Following the takeover, a Saudi-led Arab coalition intervened the following March to back Yemen's government.
