Three Palestinian vehicles were partially burned during an overnight attack by illegal Israeli settlers on the village of Rantis, west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources cited by Anadolu on Friday.
The sources said a group of illegal Israeli settlers raided the village late Thursday and began writing hostile slogans on several properties. Residents confronted the group, which left the area after partially setting fire to three vehicles.
No injuries were immediately reported.
Rantis has experienced a series of attacks in recent months, according to local sources, who said an illegal Israeli settlement outpost was established near Palestinian homes in the village several months ago.
Residents have expressed concern that the presence of the outpost could lead to further attacks and increase tensions in the area.
Occupied West Bank violence intensifies
The latest incident comes amid heightened violence by Israelis in the occupied West Bank, where Palestinians have reported attacks on people and property, including the burning of homes and vehicles, damage to agricultural land and restrictions on farmers accessing their fields.
Israeli occupation in the West Bank has also intensified since Israel launched its war on Gaza in October 2023.
According to Palestinian authorities, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 174,000 injured in Gaza since the start of the war.
The UN and international humanitarian organisations have repeatedly raised concerns over rising illegal settler violence and the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation in the occupied West Bank.
