Two Israeli reserve soldiers were killed in Gaza after a drone crashed at a military post and exploded moments later, Tel Aviv said on Friday.
A military source said that the soldiers approached the drone after it had crashed and appeared not to have detonated.
The device exploded shortly afterwards, killing both men.
“The incident is under review,” the source said.
The military identified the soldiers as 24-year-old Nadav Kali and 23-year-old Ofek Moalem, both members of the 7007th Battalion of the 16th Brigade.
Death toll among Israeli troops reaches 970
The deaths bring the number of Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza since the start of the war to 970, according to the military.
Seven Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire agreement reached last year, the military said.
The latest deaths come as the ceasefire agreement remains in place while violence and disputes over its implementation continue due to Israeli violations.

The United Nations has said the ministry’s casualty figures are generally considered reliable.
The conflict has also caused widespread destruction across Gaza and triggered a prolonged humanitarian crisis, with international agencies continuing to call for greater humanitarian access and protection of civilians.
